Last October, I took part to the MediaEval Workshop held for the second consecutive year in Barcelona.
MediaEval provides a framework where participants can test and evaluate their research solutions to various challenges proposed within the workshop. This year, the tasks were the following:
- Synchronization of Multi-user Event Media
- C@merata: Question Answering on Classical Music Scores
- Retrieving Diverse Social Images
- Search and Hyperlinking
- QUESST: Query by Example Search on Speech
- Visual Privacy
- Emotion in Music
- Placing: Geo-coordinate Prediction for Social Multimedia
- Affect Task: Violent Scenes Detection
- Social Event Detection in Web Multimedia
- Crowdsourcing: Crowdsorting Multimedia Comments
The tasks which are the most relevant to my research interests are: Emotion in Music (related to my past affect analysis investigations), Visual Privacy (cooperation with Dominique Maniry) and Violent Scenes Detection (at the center of my current research focus). However, my busy agenda only enabled me to take part to the last two tasks. The proceedings of the workshop are available at http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-1263
